Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • By phone
  • Face to face at the surgery
  • On a video call
  • By text or email

Patients can also make booked appointments to see their preferred Doctor. If you would like to do this please let the Reception Team know.

We can send you text reminders to confirm the appointment time. Please ensure we have the correct number for you, let us know if you change your number, so you can receive reminders.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer
  • If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • If you would like a chaperone
  • If you need an interpreter
  • If you have any other access or communication needs.

If your query isn’t urgent or you are keen to avoid wait times, you can contact us via eConsult (go to our page on this, for more information and to start your eConsult enquiry).

Arch is a teaching practice and occasionally trainee GPs or medical students may, as part of their training, be required to sit in with the GP during consultations. You will always be asked if you consent to this, prior to your consultation. If you do not consent, the trainee will not sit in on your consultation.

Urgent Appointments

If you need to be seen in an emergency then it is best to attend the walk-in clinic. In a serious emergency call 999 or go straight the nearest A&E department.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible so we can offer it to another patient.

Extra appointments through Brighton and Hove Federation

Through our partnership with Brighton and Hove Federation, patients now have access to additional appointments from 18.30 to 20.00 weekdays and 09.00 to 17.00 Saturday and Sunday. These include remote and face to face GP appointments as well as appointments with a nurse, pharmacist or health care assistant. Specialist clinics are also being planned (e.g. menopause, women’s health). Please refer to the Federations website for updates. Access to these clinics is by contacting the surgery in the normal way. These appointments might be held at a different location to the surgery and are subject to availability.
